Biography: Ella earned her B.Eng. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Birmingham in 2022. She spent a year working at a precision aerospace manufacturing company, Mettis Aerospace, before returning to the University of Birmingham in 2023 to study a research master's degree in the Science and Engineering of Materials. Her MRes research was focused on the segregation of alloying elements in the γ'-phase in Ni-based Single Crystal superalloys for turbine blade applications. She joined UConn in October 2024 to work as a research assistant within the Aindow research group. She will be starting a Materials Science and Engineering PhD at the IMS, University of Connecticut in Spring 2025.
